Who are we?

We are the LGB Eco Committee, a group of students committed to protecting the environment, be it on our campus or around the world. LGB's Secondary School is working to become more environmentally friendly by taking part in local and global initiatives to preserve our natural environment. Managed by the School's Eco Committee, this website is an information hub for all students, parents, teachers, and staff who wish to walk over to the green side.

Our History

Join us in perpetuating the LGB Eco Committee's history and impact.

December 2018 - Three students, Finnur Ricart Andrason, Domingo Mujica & George Hogge, became aware of the missing presence of a student body tied to the environment in the secondary school. Simultaneously, Stephanie Rathier, a Biology and Environmental Science teacher as well as the Secondary School Sustainability Coordinator, was looking for students to form an Eco-Committee as the first step towards achieving the Eco-Schools label.

January 2019 - A call for students, parents, teachers and other staff was sent out asking for individuals interested in becoming part of the Eco-Committee.

February 27th 2019 -  The first meeting of the Eco-Committee was held. Member count: 12

September 1st 2020 - Hanna and Montague are now the Eco Committee leaders.

Member count: 30
